TEAMS - Transatlantic Exchange for Academics in Migration Studies
TEAMS stands for Transatlantic Exchange for Academics in Migration Studies. The concept is based on the idea of bringing together academics but also practitioners from both sides of the Atlantic. The purpose of TEAMS is not only to provide a forum for scientific exchange but also to create and foster a network between established academics, younger scholars and policy makers for the mutual gain of getting a feedback from the practice and of receiving fresh input for developing and furthering national and supranational migration policies. The TEAMS Workshops take place annually in the relaxed surroundings of a retreat, which creates a very concentrated and intensive working atmosphere but also facilitates open-minded discussions. To underline the transatlantic character of the TEAMS concept, the workshops shall by turns take place in Germany and the U.S. TEAMS is funded by the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
